The Checkered Flag

What’s up NewSpring Church? Our RaceDay series has been a TON of fun with events on every campus, 52 people that prayed to receive Christ and 287 baptisms!!!

And this coming Sunday is the FINAL SUNDAY of the series…and I believe it will be THE most important. 

Here are TEN things to reflect on as we head into the final lap. 

#1 – Discipline is the difference between average and abundance (I Corinthians 9:24-27). 

#2 – Discipline > Desire – even though we DESIRE something, it takes DISCIPLINE to achieve it. (For example…we can say we would love to know more about the Bible, but that will never happen unless we begin to spend some time daily reading it for ourselves.)

#3 – JESUS can turn…

• Frustration into fruitfulness
• Confusion into clarification
• Accusation into affirmation

#4 – Three questions to keep going back to over and over again based out of Hebrews 12:1-3 are…

• What Hinders Me? 
• What Is My Primary Area Of Temptation? 
• Where Am I In My Walk With Jesus?

#5 -  Paul said at the beginning of Philippians 3:12 AND Philippians 3:13 that he was NOT where he needed to be in his walk with Christ…which I believe clearly says that ALL OF US have a next step to take in our walk with Jesus! (If the author of most of the New Testament wasn’t where he needed to be in his walk with Jesus…I know I’m not even close!) 

#6 – Position > Intention – It does not matter how good our intentions are, we must place ourselves in a position where our intent to follow Christ can be maximized. 

#7 – The story of Manasseh’s repentance in II Chronicles 33 is one of THE MOST MOVING stories of forgiveness in the Bible. 

#8 – Jesus does not want to rebuild people who have run away from Him…He wants to RESTORE them. 

#9 – Healing always comes after humility. 

#10 – It’s Never Too Late To Get Back On Track – (Paul said “I press on” twice in Philippians 3:12-14!) 

Can’t WAIT until THIS COMING SUNDAY…it’s the "checkered flag" in this series and I believe it’s gonna be the best one yet!
