I Am So Pumped!!! (Panama City Update—Wednesday Night)
All I can say is “wow!” For all of you back at NewSpring praying for this trip—thanks…God is answering prayer and rocking our world down here.
This week I have been focusing on the story in I Kings 18 about Elijah and the fire falling from heaven. We have literally gone through the story verse by verse over the last three nights. (I am not going to give too much away because I think I am actually going to use this again in a series for our church!!!)
BUT—tonight we finished the story about how the fire fell…and then God fell on us! The service literally lasted for over two hours and God did some awesome stuff. (And He is continuing to work as small groups are meeting right now!)
I told these teens that when we built the worship center at NewSpring that we built it with the desire that it one day be the youth center…and that they would fill it up with 2,500 teenagers every week who were willing to go all out for Jesus!
They were pumped!!! We ended the evening by asking them to pray for their lost friends and family members…and also to pray and ask God to do something incredible in this youth group. There was both excitement and brokenness.
I am so privileged to be here…getting to hang out with these young adults has been awesome! Tomorrow morning at 8:15 we are meeting on the beach to baptize those who have received Christ this week—it’s going to be awesome!
Pray for myself, Lee, and Jon as we are going to be driving back tomorrow night after the service. We should roll into Anderson at around 3:00 or 4:00…just pray that we will have safe travel and that there will be good coffee somewhere along the way!
