WHy I Love Dabo Sweeny

Why I love Dabo Sweeny...

Dabo is the real deal - the same man on and off the field.

He cares more about developing boys into men than winning football games (although - when you develop boys to men...the result is always winning!)

He is one of the greatest leaders I’ve ever known as he takes the time to continually develop himself and others.

He cares about the people he works with - and doesn’t just say it...but shows it.

He is both gracious in victory and defeat...and he only allows a defeat to beat him once instead of over and over.

However, the main reason I love this guy was when all hell broke loose in my life last year he didn’t just send me random text messages saying he was praying for me - but actually took the time out of his busy schedule (as he was prepping for the National Championship season) to invite me over to his office and talk.

He listened to my story and offered words of encouragement that absolutely made a difference in my life!

(How many people know that when someone is going through a tough time - they need your presence as much as they need your prayers!)

As I was leaving he gave me an “all in” coin and told me he wanted me to go “all in” when I got to rehab!

I still have this coin in my office - and I see it every day...it reminds me when I was down and out that there was a guy (Dabo) who did not turn his back but rather extended a hand - and has been like a brother to me!

I love this guy, Kath (who is one of the kindest people on the planet) and his boys!!

Thanks for being real Dabo!! Love you sir - and will always be “all in!”
