Random Thoughts…

It was so cool to be with Clemson’s FCA last night…I love hanging out with college students…many of them are sincerely seeking Jesus—and most of them haven’t been around older Christians so they still believe if the Bible says God can do it then He can do it! (NewSpring was actually started with a handful of adults and a ton of college students.)

AND…I realized that “I ain’t as good as I once was.” I didn’t get home until 11:30 last night—I am used to going to bed at 9:30—and two hours made a HUGE difference. Yes, I am getting old.

Yes, USC won…congrats all you Gamecocks. And can I just say that your offense was very impressive. WOW, your QB had…wait…no…he didn’t even pass for 100 yards. Oh well, you won, and that is all that matters. Get some rest…you guys are going to need it for next Saturday!

I am going to finish my journey through the minor prophets in the morning (Hosea through Malachi.) I love those guys—they were absolute freaks…if God said to say it—they said it…and didn’t really care about who was offended. They were way more concerned over offending God than offending other people…and were so focused on God it wasn’t even funny. I WANT THAT!!!

This Sunday…yeah, don’t miss it. I have shared with a few people the vision that God has given our church for the next several years and the excitement level every time has nearly caused an explosion. I actually had a guy tell me this week that his family altered their holiday weekend plans so that they can be at church on Sunday…

Speaking of that…I had lunch with a friend this week and we discussed leadership…I loved it…but he told me that before NewSpring his family would go out of town on Saturday night and get back the next week on Sunday afternoon—that way they could miss two Sunday’s @ church and blame it on vacation—but now they leave for vacation on Sunday afternoon and get back on Saturday night so that they don’t have to miss…I LOVE IT!

First Wednesday is heading our way THIS Wednesday…it’s going to be different that the others…but it will be awesome—AWESOME!!!

I have a really unique opportunity this coming week…I won’t talk a lot about it now…but let’s just say that I am excited!!!

And finally—I am going to the Clemson game tomorrow…hopefully I will see you there…look for me, I will be the guy in the orange shirt.  Hopefully our QB’s passing yards will hit the triple digits and we will score some touchdowns by driving the ball instead of having our former QB throw a TD pass…no, wait, our former QB is in the NFL.  Anyway, go Tigers!!!
