Here are a few more thoughts on my journey through Scripture…
- Acts 1:24 - No matter how hard I try…I can NEVER fool God.
- Acts 2:4 - God used common, ordinary men to communicate the Gospel in a way that everyone could understand…and He’s still doing the same today.
- Acts 2:41 - One of my prayers is that God will one day allow me to be a part of a day like this. (Call me crazy—but did someone actually count the number of people?)
- Acts 2:47 - DAILY!
- Acts 4:1-2 - These people have always been around!
- Acts 4:12 - THIS is why evangelism is SO MUCH MORE than a good idea!!! Jesus is NECESSARY!
- Acts 4:13 - Unschooled, ordinary men…I am so glad He still uses the “non-experts!”
- Acts 4:34-37 - Radical, generous giving was/is a sign of someone who is sincerely following Jesus.
- Acts 5:33-39 - YEP!
- Acts 8:8 - I am praying this for Anderson & Greenville!
- Acts 9:31 - YEP!
- Acts 13:43-44 - If God did it then—He can do it today! Why do we limit Him with our small dreams?
- Acts 15:5 - People have always been around who felt like Jesus plus BLANK equals salvation…and they have always been wrong!
- Acts 16:6-10 - I have always found great comfort in this story—God will NOT LET ME MISS HIM & WHERE HE IS LEADING ME!
- Acts 17:6 - THIS is the reputation the church needs to have—changing the world!
- Acts 17:25 - God IS NOT “somewhere out there,” He is right HERE, right NOW.
- Acts 19:10 - If Paul could reach this many people—then the Upstate should be NO PROBLEM for an Almighty God!!!
- Acts 20:24 - WOW, this is one of THE most incredible statements made in Scripture.
The other things I have REALLY focused on in the book of Acts is—
- The name of Jesus was constantly lifted up…He was the center.
- Scripture was CENTRAL to their message.
- They were desperate for the Holy Spirit’s leadership!
The three things above should always be true of ANY church—just my opinion!!!
