Do You Struggle With Confidence As A Leader?

I have never met a leader that did not struggle with confidence.  

Whether it was a senior pastor worried about his ability to preach and cast vision, or an executive pastor concerned about their ability to handle the day to day operations - the lack of confidence is crippling for some, and devastating for others as it can drive them away from ministry altogether.  

So why do so many leaders struggle with a lack of confidence?  

The root of it is based in our personal insecurities. 

And why do so many leaders wrestle with personal insecurities?   

It’s very simple - we know the absolute worse version of who we are.  Not only do we know what we’ve done, we know what we’ve thought about doing - and because of this many times we find it absolutely unthinkable that God would want anything to do with us, much less want to use us to work in His church.  

One of the things I’ve always told people is God knew everything about you before He created you, every fault, every flaw—and He still created you, called you and ordained you to make a difference as a leader.  

Years ago I had a really good friend lovingly point out the fact I believe that for everyone in the world—except for myself - and when he said that it was like getting hit in the face with a sledgehammer as I finally understood my lack of confidence was rooted in me believing the Gospel was true for everyone except for me.  

If I could do ANYTHING for church leaders - I would try to find a way to instill confidence in them, as I know that confident leadership is ultimately leadership that will make a difference.  

Which is why I created a series of coaching videos that are going to be available on Tuesday, May 9.  I have learned over the years that confidence comes from an understanding of what we are called to…as well as training in how to do it.  

My prayer is that you, through participating in these videos coaching sessions, will experience an increasing level of confidence in your calling as well as a growing level of knowledge in regards to how to walk in the calling God has placed on your life.
