Cranking Up The Creative Process
I LOVE TUESDAYS!!!
Why?
Because Tuesday is the day our creative team meets to put the final touches on the upcoming weekend—AND to plan for future messages. (We will working on the message for May 7 today!)
One of the things we are serious about here at NewSpring is the creative process. We want to make sure that when people pull onto our campus that they are ENGAGED by people who love Jesus and love them! We want them to be ENGAGED by the atmosphere that is created. We want them to be ENGAGED during the worship time. We want the message to ENGAGE their hearts…and ultimately—we want to see them receive Christ so that His kingdom can be ENLARGED!
So we take Tuesdays seriously!
You see…I have this belief that there is a man coming this weekend…he’s bitter at God and at the church. But he’s coming…why, probably because a friend invited him—and EVERYTHING he sees and experiences is going to matter. When I preach I always have him in mind—I want to make sure he can understand what is being said.
I believe there is a lady coming this weekend…maybe a single mom. She hasn’t had a moment of silence in…well, she can’t remember when. AND she can’t remember the last time she really had a time to slow down and listen to the Lord. She’s coming—why, probably because someone loved her enough to invite her. She’ll bring her kids in and check them in…and then she will come into the worship center and be ENGAGED by the living God! You see, when we plan we have her in mind.
I believe there is a family coming this weekend…and the husband and wife are on the brink of divorce. On the outside things look great—but they are TORN on the inside…and they just don’t know how much longer they can hold on. They are coming, why—probably because someone invited them. And they will sit in our worship center…and because of God working through people who love HIM and THEM enough to do what it takes—their marriage will be saved and their children will not have to deal with the pain of divorce.
I seriously do believe these people are coming…and I seriously believe that what we do matters. That is why I PROMISE you as a pastor that if you will invite your lost family members and friends to NewSpring that you will get our absolute best effort every single week! We believe that they are worth the effort!!! This ministry is a partnership—and we want you to know we are doing our part.
Don’t get me wrong…we know it is not by our effort alone that God is doing this awesome work, that would be stupidity; however, I do believe it is God working through us! I believe, as I read in a book by Bob Russell, that “excellence honors God and inspires people.” And that is what we strive for every week at NewSpring.
We take church seriously! We take that there are people out there who are far from God seriously. We take the fact that hell is hot seriously. We take that without Jesus that people have no hope for this life or the next seriously. AND we are going to work as if everything depends on us…and then pray as if everything depends on God…and we just are all crazy enough to believe that somewhere in that balance…AND with all of us inviting people who need Jesus—that He will draw people to Himself and ultimately this entire community will be changed!!!
WOW—I’m pumped about EASTER! Don’t forget our service times this weekend—4 & 6 on Saturday night and then 9:30 and 11:15 on Sunday. AND for this WEEK ONLY we will not have a Sunday night service…but the next week we will resume normal schedule!
Get as many people here as possible…and let’s celebrate Easter like never before!!!
One more thing…I am thinking of composing a “Top Ten Reasons To Come To NewSpring This Easter.” Does anyone out there have a recomendation? You don’t have to come up with 10 reasons…but maybe 2 or 3…shoot me an e-mail!!
