Why Saying, “I Want To Lose Weight” Never Worked For Me!

Have you ever said, "I want to lose a few pounds," but then never followed through?

I said that exact phrase for YEARS; however, what I was saying and how I was living was in direct opposition to each other.  

My intentions were to follow through, but I never did--thus causing me to feel hopeless and defeated when it came to weight loss.  

However, after decades of battling with weight and SAYING I wanted to do something about it - I was finally able to merely stop talking and

actually began taking control of how I looked and felt.  

What did I do? 

I developed a PLAN--and then followed through.  

A mentor once told me, "fail to plan, plan to fail."  I've had a lot of people say a lot of things to me in my 46 years of life - but that is one that has stuck with me, and I have found it to be true in every area of life--especially health and fitness.  

In developing my plan I simply wrote down...

  • How much weight I wanted to lose (instead of saying, "I want to shed some pounds" I said, "I want to weigh 205."  
  • I established a realistic date in which I wanted to reach my goal.  (So, instead of saying, "I want to weigh 205" I would say, "I want to weigh 205 by December of this year.") - The more specific and measurable, the better!)
  • I closely monitored my progress (and setbacks) and made adjustments accordingly.  

And this is the main reason I wrote, "I Can Win With Weight,"

I tried nearly every plan on the market. 

I read nearly every book I could get my hands on (most of which were filled with lots of facts and very little practical application.)  

And so, after doing lots of research I simply began to experiment on myself - and over the past 18 months developed a plan that produced incredible results (unlike I never expected to see!)  

Several months ago people began asking me how I had lost so much weight - it was a few people at first but then I began getting more and more questions about it.  

Issues with weight are a SERIOUS issue (I read recently that close to 60% of Americans are either overweight or obese!)  And, it doesn't have to be that way.
