Thoughts From The ATL

May 4, 2006

I am sitting in my hotel room in Atlanta watching the NBA playoffs. I must admit that I really enjoy the playoffs because the players actually PLAY! It seems that they actually CARE about the games. They know a lot is on the line—they either win or go home. AND—because so much is on the line you can see a passion and effort that is not seen in the regular season.

WOW—that reminds me a little of the church…

You see—at NewSpring we are convinced that every Sunday is a “playoff Sunday.” AND…because of that I can promise that our staff takes each and every service we have with a serious and focused intensity. We don’t just throw things together and beg God to do something with it—we work as if everything depends on us and then pray as if everything depends on Him.

We understand that there is a lot at stake—MORE than a playoff trophy…but lives—eternities!!!

However—from time to time we feel like we get to play in the “championship game,” and when that happens you can be sure it is our goal and prayer to make sure that every area gets extra attention!

This Sunday will be one of those days! I have said it all week…I will say it again…if you have a friend or family member who does not know Christ then GET THEM TO NEWSPRING this Sunday! I promise you are going to see an incredibly powerful presentation of the Gospel!

I can’t wait!!!

Other thoughts…

I HATE ATLANTA TRAFFIC!

The 20 mile run is Saturday—pray hard!!! :-)

That’s about it—I am going to bed!
