So in just about a month we will be hosting our first ever leadership conference here at NewSpring Church…and to say that we’re excited is an understatement.
It’s one day…six speakers…and the best $99 you will ever spend on a leadership conference. ($99 rate is our early bird rate and it is good until this Friday…after that the price increases to $129…you should go here and register now!)
Why are we doing this? Simple…we really did want to put together a one day conference that was focused on the biblical subject of leadership. The way the day has been designed is one speaker after another…with some music in between. I firmly believe that if leaders in the church actually embraced their God given potential and became who God called them to be that we would not experience a revival but rather a brand new REFORMATION.
AND…I believe that the things we are going learn on this day will be both mind blowing and life changing.
So…who is going to be speaking…below is a list of WHO and WHY I invited them.
Mark Driscoll - I have had the privilege of spending time with Mark on a few occasions and can honestly say he is one of the wisest most humble men of God that I have ever met. His passion for God’s Word is contagious…and the way he teaches always challenges the heck out of me. His grasp on the Scriptures is amazing. God has used him to do some great things…yet he has never forgotten where he came from! (Here is his blog, and this is his church!)
Jud Wilhite - I think Jud and his church (Central Christian in Las Vegas) are amazing. What God has accomplished through Jud at that church is mind blowing. He took over a church and within about six months it went from 6,000 to 5,000! (Not exactly the way you want things to go!) However, today they are healthy and thriving, averaging around 17,000 per weekend. I heard Jud speak at Catalyst West Coast in 2009 and was blown away by how God spoke through him!
Judah Smith - Judah is a 31 year old senior pastor in Seattle and one of the best communicators I’ve ever heard! His story is quite amazing as well…and the way God is using him is mind blowing. He did a series on the church last year that is some of the best teaching on the church I’ve ever heard! I honestly think he’s one of the best young leaders on the planet…and I cannot wait to hear what God wants to say through him at NCL 2010. (Here is his church!)
Francis Chan - Come on…he’s Francis Freakin’ Chan!!! Every single time I have ever heard Francis speak I have been challenged. I love his transparency and honesty when he communicates. What God is doing in his life right now is amazing to watch…and he is an amazing example to all of us as to what it means to truly follow Jesus…even when He asks us to do things that might not make sense and are not that comfortable! I know God is going to use him at NLC!
Steven Furtick - He is 30 years old…and I can honestly say he is one of the wisest, godliest men that I know! What God has done through him in the city of Charlotte in less than five years is a modern day miracle. They moved there with NOTHING…and this past Easter had over 10,000 people show up for their services. I love hearing Steven speak because each and every time I do the Lord uses him to speak to my heart and both encourage AND challenge me. (Here is his blog...and here is his church.)
Me - I invited me because…well…I am hoping I have something to say! :-) Seriously, I can’t WAIT to speak at this event!
So…hopefully you will be here! It’s going to be amazing…seriously! We are praying/believing for amazing things to happen in the lives of every leader that attends…and as a result we know that what happens inside of the leader will eventually happen in the life/church of the ministry that they lead!!!
