I wanted to take just a second to say “thank you” to everyone at NewSpring Church.
Last week I wrote this post in regards to the message on depression that I preached yesterday…I asked our church to please keep me in your prayers throughout the week…and I was OVERWHELMED (in an awesome way) with an amazing amount of encouragement and support from you guys.
Honestly, I feel like yesterday’s service is going to be looked at as a benchmark day in our church. It’s only Monday right now…not even lunch time when I’m writing this and I’ve already received more feedback (positive) from yesterday’s message than any other message we’ve ever done in our 12 year history. People received encouragement, a challenge and hope…as depression is a VERY real struggle that we face; however, in Christ we CAN overcome it!
Prayer really does work! After I walked off the stage yesterday a really great friend asked me, “was it hard to preach that message?” I immediately replied, “no!” In fact, I said “no” so fast that it startled me…until I realized that I had asked all of you to pray with me and for me last week (because I CANNOT DO LIFE ALONE)...you did…and God honored that prayer so that in yesterday’s message I was preaching hurt but rather filled with hope!!
Your prayers made a difference…and for that I am SO THANKFUL!!!
I’ve had people asking about when the message will be available at our website and on itunes…unless something unforseen takes place the messages from Sunday are always available at www.newspring.cc by around 12 pm (EST) on Tuesday…and around the same time the message is available on our NewSpring podcast as well. If you know anyone who is struggling or has struggled with depression I would strongly suggest you let them know.
