Sunday Night Reflections, The Beach Trip AND A Coaching Network…and other randomness

Here goes a whole host of things…first of all, today…

“What do I still lack?” THAT QUESTION is bothering me because…well…Jesus ALWAYS messes me up when I ask it.
It felt great to be back preaching again today…but having to preach THAT message four times was convicting!
“I Stand Amazed” in the 4th service with just an acoustic guitar was one of THE highlights of my day—seriously, it was incredible.
Being a Christian is NOT about doing a list of rules and regulations…but rather about getting out of bed everyday and saying, “Yes Lord,” before even knowing the question!
What is THE area in your life that you’ve told Christ “hands off?” (By the way…if you want to know the answer to that question—take a look at THE most dysfunctional area of your life and BAM…there you have it!)
The story about the lamb fries was true! AHHHHH!

Now about the beach trip…

Parents, if you haven’t gotten your teenager signed up for The Gauntlet yet—DO IT…seriously!
I know it’s $350…IT’S WORTH IT! And PLEASE save your stories about how much money that is when I know that parents have shelled out WAY more than that for prom dresses and golf lessons!
As I said today…our church believes in our teenagers so much that we are making a HUGE financial investment as well to pull this trip off.
For those who feel led to give an extra $350 this month—DO IT! It WILL make a difference. Seriously, God always ROCKS our worlds on this trip.
If you are a teenager who wants to go—I WANT YOU TO GO! Seriously! THE reason I am going on this trip is so that I can spend time with you! I believe in you…you matter—TODAY! Seriously—it’s going to be incredible.

A Coaching Network…

God has been dealing with me for quite some time to start a coaching network for pastors…and He’s also used the consistent nagging of Chris and Gary to push me over the edge! :-)
So…starting in August I will begin a coaching network for senior pastors ONLY! We will meet once a month for six months and will hit both the practical AND spiritual implications of being a senior pastor.
It will cost $1,500 (and average of $250 per session) and you must fill out an application.
If you are interested in being a part (it will be limited to 12 people) then please email Lindsay (lindsay.owens@newspring.cc) and ask her to place you on the list so we can get you and application…or you can call her at 864-226-6585.
I am seriously looking forward to this.

Other Randomness

Next week we begin ONE PRAYER...and there are over 1,200 churches now involved. (We added an element to the service for next Sunday earlier today that is going to rock our face off!)
My birthday is June 24th…and I will right now make a shameless plug for gifts. (Receiving gifts IS a love language of mine!) I would love itunes gift cards, starbucks cards, restaurant cards…and a Harley Davidson. :-)
Yes, I am serious about the motorcycle! VERY SERIOUS…I know they are dangerous…which is why I want one!
I asked my daughter for a hug last night…and she gave me one. That was the first time she’s ever done that…wow…I am SO in trouble when she gets older.
