I’m getting old…my throat hurts, my back hurts…and I ACTUALLY began a conversation this week with the phrase, “When I was a boy things weren’t like that…” OH MY GOSH!!!
Here are my thoughts on the day…
- This has been, by far, one of the most interesting series we’ve ever tackled. We’ll probably do something like it again in a couple of years.
- It BLOWS my mind that “Christians” attempt to fight culture…Jesus didn’t! (John 3:17)
- I think too often we forget that if it were not for the grace of God…we would be the very people that we condemn. (I Corinthians 6:9-11)
- We’re not called to FIGHT culture…it’s not us versus them…Jesus called us to REACH THEM!
- The biggest problem with the church is NOT “those people out there” but rather self righteous, arrogant “Christians” who feel as if they are better than those who don’t know Jesus…COMPLETELY forgetting that we are saved because of HIS GRACE!!!
- Next week we will be dealing with the question, “Are we living in the end times?” Personally, I am looking forward to this one more than any message so far in the series.
- Oh yeah, I meant what I said today about Christian boycotts being stupid! For too long the church has focused on changing the agendas of “secular” organizations instead of preaching Jesus and begging Him to change hearts!
- Changing a companies agenda will do ZERO good…we can change their agenda and they can still die and go to hell if they don’t know CHRIST!!!
- Our time of singing tonight in the 6:00 was UNBELIEVABLE!
- It is my prayer that we will always be a church willing to experience the “uncomfortable” in order to reach the “unreachable!”
- Like I said today in all of the services…GET PEOPLE HERE over the next three weeks! Trust me…the GOSPEL will be presented in a very straightforward way.
- The 24th is going to be incredibly unique as we will be doing something that we’ve NEVER done in the history of NewSpring Church!
- And then the 31st…folks, I’m serious…we covered the details of that service last week in a planning meeting and will do a few more things to it this week—BUT DANG! I want it to be here RIGHT NOW!!!
- I’m REALLY excited about our coaching network that begins on Thursday. I think we have a solid group of guys and I can’t wait to connect with them!
- Gotta hit the treadmill HARD in the morning…had a HUGE cheeseburger this weekend and chased it down with Brusters Ice Cream! YES!!!
