Sunday Night Reflections

What an amazing day at NewSpring Church…a few thoughts before heading to hit the hay…

  • The news about our Florence campus keeps getting more and more exciting…seriously about to come out of my skin in regards to the possibilities!
  • BIG announcement about the Columbia campus within the next week or two!
  • One of my favorite quotes ever was from Lee McDee today at the Anderson campus when he gave the challenge before the offering, “Money did not go to the cross and die for you, so why would you serve it?”  DANG!
  • Can’t wait to preach next week…I’ve NEVER taken five weeks off from speaking…needless to say I am refreshed and about to BUST WIDE OPEN!  AND…
  • I am REALLY excited about something “special” going on in the service next week…we’ve never done this before!
  • Reading Nehemiah right now in my QT and am reminded every time I read that book that when a man get’s a white hot vision from God in his heart and keeps his focus on Jesus…the “impossible” becomes reality!!!
  • Asking God to stretch me right now and show me what the next 10 years of NewSpring’s ministry needs to look like…I’ve got a feeling “we ain’t seen nothing yet!”
  • I am preaching at a memorial service tomorrow (Monday) at 11:00 for Gena Parker, a 50 year old third grade school teacher that was brutally murdered along with her mother last week…I would greatly appreciate your prayers as I am begging God for HIS words, and that I will be His servant as I lift up Jesus.
  • BTW…there are no “easy answers” to tragedy…the only comfort I can take right now in all of this is that God is completely sovereign despite when circumstances seems to say otherwise…which is why today’s message at NewSpring was so awesome!!!
  • Andy Stanley spoke today via video teaching…and it was one of THE STRONGEST messages I’ve ever heard…some quotes I took away were…
  • “In the midst of uncertainty God is still certain.”
  • “Can you trust God when there is no evidence of His activity in your life?”
  • “God seems to take broken things and do amazing work.”
  • “The greatest things begin in the greatest messes.”
  • “God STILL has the whole world in His hands.”

That’s about it for the day…praying that my mind will shut down long enough for me to get some sleep this evening.
