MAJOR Change Heading Our Way At NewSpring

Sep 10, 2007

One of the things we always say around here at NewSpring is that we are going to make sure that things will always be consistently inconsistent! (Say that five times as fast as you can!)

AND so, right now, I have a major change to announce…but NOT before I set it up! :-)

Bottom line—people are more likely to visit our church and 9:15 and 11:15 than any other time on Sunday. AND those two services are the most PACKED OUT…although a lot of you HAVE made the move to 4:15 and 6:00…and a HUGE thank you for that.

However, we have been racking our brains to try and figure out how to get more people to continue to move to Sunday night services in order to free up more seats on Sunday mornings…and after several weeks of prayer and LONG meetings dedicated to this issue we believe we have found a solution.

As of Sunday, September 30th (three weeks from this past Sunday) WE ARE CHANGING OUR SERVICE TIMES! Let me explain…

Sunday mornings will stay the same…9:15 and 11:15…but Sunday nights are going to change, both with the service times and the environments that are created.

We are changing service times on Sunday evenings to 5:00 and 6:45...let me highlight what will be a little different about them…

We are going to attempt to make the 5:00 service more of a family friendly type service. (Moms and dads, face it—you can sleep in on Sunday’s, not have to fight the battle of getting kids ready, and still come to church.)

How are we going to try and get more families? Simple—for September 30th and the whole month of October we will feed your kids supper before the service begins and give them ice cream after the service. AND…we are going to tell your kids this as well…so…guess which service they are going to want to attend?

The message and the music will be the same for the 5:00 service…it will be identical to the two morning services…it’s just for five weeks we are going to try to do all we can to “bribe” your kids and free up some seats in the AM. (No, you cannot bring your kids to the AM services and then drop them off for the PM so they can get ice cream!!!) :-)

NOW…the 6:45 service…I know it’s late…and that is why, for this service, we have decided to target our college and singles crowd by offering a different type of service. The message will be the same as the morning services…but the music will be different in that we will be doing a lot more singing…it will sort of have a feel like our First Wednesday’s used to have…and we believe that this service will be PACKED out with college students and singles.

(College and singles…you can sleep in on Sunday’s and then come to church on Sunday nights as well!!!)

Now, before you ask—YES—we will have children’s ministry available for this service. AND YES, ANYONE can attend…it’s not JUST for the college and singles. BUT…we thought the college students and singles are always asking for a little more…it doesn’t matter how late they stay out…and so let’s do a service that is a little more there style.

ONE MORE TIME…ANYONE can come to this service…ANYONE…it’s just that college and singles will be our main target, which means it will be a little longer and a little louder!!!

Lee told me yesterday that he is PUMPED about this new service…and I am as well. AND we believe that in doing this we will see hundreds of people move from Sunday mornings to Sunday evenings, thus continuing to free up seats in the AM!

Once again this all begins on Sunday, September 30th...mark it down and get ready!!!!
