Easter Stories You Have GOT To Read

Apr 21, 2014

Greenwood Campus:

  • One of our NewSpring owners is a small business owner who has been inviting his 20 employees to NewSpring in Greenwood since our launch. In the past 16 months, 3 of them have met Jesus.  This Easter, he intentionally invited and prayed for one of his employees in particular. His name is Walt. Walt's father was recently diagnosed with bone cancer, and no one in their family knows Jesus or has ever attended church. On Easter Sunday, Walt, his father, and his mother ALL responded to the message and Walt's parents are signed up for baptism on May 18!! Walt is still "taking everything in" but has reassured us that he's coming back and bringing his WIFE!
  • Austin came to our Greenwood campus on Thursday and told us that it felt like he was watching his own story on the screen. In 2010, when Austin was 9, his dad passed away. Like Luke, he loves to play soccer and really misses his Dad. Austin gave his life to Jesus on Thursday night after the message!

Anderson Campus:

  • 2 Clemson football players met Jesus!
  • A Care volunteer drove up to see his brother-in-law at Ft. Bragg on Friday and showed the service to a bunch of the service guys. After the message, he was able to lead 2 service men to Jesus!
  • Keith was sitting in the front row and it was his very first time at NewSpring this week. He raised his hand but did not come forward. One of the Anderson staff members went and talked to him and found out he is from New Hampshire. Keith found out about NewSpring from his dad who is also from New Hampshire but has attended a few times when he is in South Carolina while working on construction jobs. Keith accepted Jesus as Lord this weekend and is ready to take his Next Steps!
  • Ron's dad died last Sunday, so the message was very close to him. Ron is 67 years old- and met Jesus this week!
  • Shannon reached out on Facebook as she was reading Overwhelmed Book- She said her perspective was completely changing. She currently struggles with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder and was ready to give up on her marriage, kids and life a few weeks ago. Someone from NewSpring contacted her via Facebook message because we didn't have any other contact information. Shannon said she still had a lot of questions but wanted to talk to someone. This week, Shannon Facebook messaged us again and said that she was 100% sure that today was the day and she was ready to give her life to Christ. We encouraged her that giving her life to Christ was not something she had to wait to do until she came to church. She met Jesus over Facebook chat and then came to the 6:30 service and walked forward!!

Spartanburg Campus:

  • Someone who watched the message online Friday night who used to live in Spartanburg emailed in to let us know she met Jesus Friday night while watching the service online!!
  • Taray's kids are picked up by a volunteer every week who goes into Taray's neighborhood and takes children to KidSpring. The kids love it so much that they have been telling their mom that she should come. This week Taray said yes to coming to NewSpring and after the message, she said yes to giving her life to Jesus!
  • Jason and Kerrie moved to Spartanburg from Ohio just two weeks ago after losing Jason's mother to cancer. This week, the couple AND Jason's father asked Jesus into their lives.
  • Ken was invited to NewSpring by his sister on Facebook after they hadn't spoken in 40 years. Ken and his daughter, Kayla, both came to a service and asked Jesus into their lives after a service!
  • Chuck invited another Smith Family to the Easter service at NewSpring. During the service, the Smith Family (Sheri, her husband Bernie and their oldest daughter Alexis) saw a story of another Smith family at NewSpring Church that taught them what real hope is- and they all met Jesus!!!

Greenville Campus:

  • A husband and wife got married and both thought the other person was saved. They walked out of the service thinking the other was responding to the invite. And both ended up meeting Jesus!
  • A lady who owns her own business in Greenville and attends in Spartanburg brought some of her employees to the Greenville campus this week and one of them met Jesus!
  • Amy and Kevin were on the brink of divorce when Amy accepted a co-worker's invitation to come to NewSpring. They've continued to come back, and both Amy and Kevin prayed to receive Christ at Easter.
  • Chris and Melanie have been dating for 3 years and have a 2-year-old daughter. Easter was their second time visiting NewSpring and they both gave their lives to Christ!

Boiling Springs Campus:

  • Jonathan moved from Connecticut to SC in January to attend Limestone College. His cheerleading coach invited him to NewSpring Boiling Springs for Easter and Jonathan asked Jesus into his life!
  • A girl met Jesus during a Facebook conversation with a staff member at the Boiling Spring campus then invited her mom, Linda, to attend church with her. This week, Linda asked Jesus into her life at an Easter service!

Charleston Campus:

  • Khalil and J'meka are brother and sister. Khalil has been coming to Fuse the past few weeks, so he brought his sister to an Easter service this week and they both met Jesus!
  • Corey is homeless and was invited to NewSpring Church this week. He walked 7 miles to get to a service and accepted Christ at the Charleston campus!
  • Cody's coworker (a Fuse student) led him to Christ after work one night recently. This week, Cody invited his mom to an Easter service and she met Jesus!

Myrtle Beach Campus:

  • Jason and Christi came to NewSpring Myrtle Beach this weekend. On the same day Zac Smith died, Jason had come home from the hospital. He had just had a major surgery that left him in a 48 hour coma. Both Jason, Christi and their 3 kids were faced with a hopeless situation...But after the Easter service this week, Jason put his faith in Jesus and now has hope that trumps every situation!

Every number has a name, every name has a story, and every story matters to God!!!!
