A Letter From Pastor P To NewSpring Church

Mar 20, 2012

Howdy NewSpring Church, FIVE things I want to share today…

#1 - I LOVE My Church!  A huge “thank you” to everyone who has encouraged me since Sunday’s message.  I SO appreciate the grace that has been poured out to me.  This is the first church I’ve ever pastored and the largest church I’ve ever attended.  The past 12 years have been amazing (and I know the best is yet to come)!  Thank you all so much for being patient with me and allowing the Lord to shape and mold me on this journey.  It’s not the easiest thing to do as most of my mistakes/failures are very public; however, I am excited about how the Lord is absolutely changing my heart and I know He is preparing me and our church for GREATER THINGS!

#2 - HUNDREDS of people responded to the invitation this past Sunday during the challenge to repent of specific sin that was holding them back from experiencing a walk with Jesus unlike anything they’ve ever seen!  That PUMPS me up!  A few things to remember from Sunday…  Because…revival is always preceded by repentance!

  • Remember, when what is holding you back in your life (sin) is identified it must be removed!
  • Repentance is a change of mind that leads to a change of behavior.  (Most of us do not need to change our habits…we need to allow Jesus to change our minds about those habits…only then will LASTING change take place!)
  • And PLEASE understand that God does not reveal our sin to us to condemn us (Romans 8:1) but rather correct us so that our walk with Him can be what it should be!
  • One of the GREATEST gifts God can give to us is the revelation of our own sinfulness so that it can be confessed and repented of!!!  (See Psalm 139:23-24…this is an AMAZING prayer to pray!)

#3 - If you are a pastor/church leader…I don’t usually do this but this past Sunday’s message might provide you some encouragement.  (In other words, watch in on our website or download it off of itunes.)  I basically taught NewSpring Church about repentance, I concluded by calling for repentance…but the middle of the message consisted of four things I felt the Lord tell me I need to repent of and ask forgiveness for from the church.  It was one of the most challenging messages I’ve ever preached…but I am STILL celebrating what Jesus did on Sunday…and will do in the future with it.

#4 - Easter services are QUICKLY approaching…once again, here is the site with campus service times and where you can get your FREE tickets.  (BTW…can’t WAIT to share with you what we are doing this Sunday to promote Easter!!!  WOW!!!  I really do believe we are going to see HUNDREDS of people surrender their lives to Christ!!!  Remember the sticky notes…don’t give up on them, remember, God didn’t give up on you!!!)

#5 - GAUNTLET registrations are increasing like CRAZY!  Remember, one week from this coming Sunday is when the price break ends…so get online and GO FOR IT ASAP (right here!)  :-)

I love my church!
