16 Questions That Will Help Us Make It In Ministry - Part Three

3. Who Is On Your Team?

In Matthew10.2-4 the names of the team members are listed.

One of the things that I am discovering is that when God calls you He will surround you with a team in order to accomplish the task He has assigned to you.

I once heard TD Jakes say that you can walk onto a construction site and tell how big the job is going to be by the equipment that has been assembled on the site to do the job.  The same thing is true in ministry you can tell the size of the work God is getting ready to do by the people He has brought around you in order to assist you in accomplishing the vision He has placed in you.

God works through teams.  One of the mistakes that I have made in the past as a leader is trying to do everything on my own and not trusting the men and women He has placed around me and unleashing them to do the job God has called them to do.

We often say around here, “The teamwork makes the dream work!”  (Borrowed from John Maxwell)  I am so thankful that God didn’t ask me to go on this journey alone…but has surrounded me with some “heavy equipment” in order for us to accomplish the vision He has placed in front of us.

One more thing on this…Jesus didn’t use any “professional religious people” to change the world.  (Except for Paul…and He had to knock Paul off a horse and save him before using him!!!)  He used common, ordinary people who simply spent time with Jesus and stayed in step with Him…and He’s STILL using those same people today!

Your team matters!!!
