What’s “At The Movies” All About?
Yesterday I wrote about the series we are beginning on Sunday and how excited I am about it…
Today I wanted to let you know that the series is called, “At The Movies” and explain a little about what we're going to get to experience.
We are going to take five weeks, watch scenes from five separate movies, and through music, preaching and clips from certain movies we will clearly communicate, what I believe will be, “life changing” concepts!
What are the movies you ask?
Technically, I cannot specifically mention the titles because of copyright issues; however, I can drop hints. :-)
October 12 – You will need a “flux capacitor” along with enough power to generate “1.21 jigowatts” for this Sunday!! (I’ve heard rumor there MAY be a “Huey Lewis and the News” song!)
October 19 – There is a famous actor who trained Obi-Wan Kenobi AND also trained Batman! Some guys in Europe kidnapped his daughter and…well, that turned out to be a BIG mistake. (If you have EVER thought it is “too late” for you in regards to a relationship with God…or you know someone who believes that, GET THEM HERE ON THIS WEEKEND!)
October 26 – This weekend we will be talking about a very famous movie about Jesus that was directed by Mel Gibson. (Church - this is one of the GREATEST weekends in the history of our church to bring someone who you want to see and hear a very clear Gospel presentation. Just wanted to let you know!)
November 2 – On this weekend we will answer the question, “Do you want to build a snowman?” Seriously, if you are single and are facing challenges in the dating world, THIS IS THE WEEKEND YOU CANNOT MISS CHURCH!
November 9 – We’re officially calling this, “War Movie Weekend.” I will be going over (in my opinion) the top war movies of all time, and…we will be taking out a few moments to honor all of our veterans at each campus!! It’s going to be “one of those Sundays” we NEVER forget.
There you go! And during this series I can promise you four things:
#1 – It will be church like you’ve never seen before!
#2 – It will be church better than you’ve experienced before!
#3 – Your un-churched family and friends WILL NOT BE BORED or unengaged during the entire service!
#4 – Jesus WILL change lives through this series!
I can’t wait!!!
And once again, if you can't make it to a NewSpring campus to see this in real life (because you live far far away is the only excuse for you NOT to be here!!), you HAVE to tune in with us live on Sundays as you'll not be able to see these at any other time!!!
