Ok NewSpring Church, What Now?

Hey NewSpring Church - THANK YOU for stepping up and doing what it took to bring as many people as possible to church this weekend.  

We saw 1,500 people receive Christ (the number keeps going up) and set a non-holiday record attendance with 38,227 people!  (Last year on "salvation weekend" we had 24,000 people!)  

Let's CELEBRATE this like crazy!  Let's share this on twitter, Facebook, tell our friends and thank God as often as possible all day today...

And then let's get back to work!  (See Matthew 9:35-38)

If you invited someone and they received Christ yesterday (or...if you received Christ yesterday), here are the THREE most important things we need to make sure to do for them.  

#1 - Make sure they have a Bible.  If they do not have one you can pick one up for them at any NewSpring office...or at guest services at any campus this Sunday!  (OR...if they have a smartphone they can download a FREE Bible RIGHT HERE!)  Most people struggle with where to begin reading - here is a link to a Bible reading plan in John, and here is a link to our discipleship website that provides lots and lots of resources designed to help people at any level in their walk with Christ take their next step.)  

#2 - Get them back to church THIS SUNDAY!!!  One of THE BEST things for a Christian (whether they've been one a week or 50 years) is consistent church attendance!  (See Hebrews 10:24-25)  This "Step-Up" campaign has been going amazing, and this coming Sunday will be one that marks EVERYONE who attends in a significant way!  

#3 - Encourage them to tell someone about their decision.  The BEST thing we can teach new believers to do is tell others about their decision to follow Jesus!  

I love my church!!!  

NewSpring...what we are apart of is NOT NORMAL!!!  I've been a Christian for 23 years and have NEVER been apart of anything like this!  We're seeing people far from God meet Christ, addicts being set free, marriages being restored, teenagers making the decision to follow Christ rather than the crowd, children who LOVE coming to church...and so many other things that I could not write about them right now!!!  

I'm already looking forward to THIS COMING SUNDAY as I know the Lord is JUST GETTING STARTED with all He wants to do in this campaign!!!
