Happy Fourth…

Jul 4, 2008

I’ve got a few thoughts I wanted to share today…some connect, some don’t…

Mark Batterson’s post is a MUST READ in regards to the 4th!  SERIOUSLY!

I am about to go for a run…and then ‘Cretia, Charisse and I will be hitting the lake…fun times.

AND…I can’t wait until Sunday.  :-)  (BIG SURPRISE!)  It’s going to be a “last” of sorts…this Sunday will be the last time I ever speak to NewSpring Church on just one campus…beginning next week we will have two additional services in Greenville…and then later on the fall two more in Florence.  (And TRUST ME…what is after that is currently BLOWING my mind!)

NewSpring, I truly believe God has called us to reach 100,000 people for Him over the next 15-20 years…and the only way we will accomplish that is to take HUGE risks and get way outside of our comfort zones.  That means going places that no one else has been willing to go and attempting things that no one else is trying.

Oh yeah…trust me on this one—DO NOT BE LATE THIS SUNDAY.  We will be beginning the service in an UNFORGETTABLE WAY!  Our band is going to be going all out!!!

As for the message, as I said earlier…it’s going to be the last time I am able to speak to our church at just one location…and so the Lord has really placed some things on my heart that I believe our church needs to hear.  I believe it will be both encouraging and challenging…and we will leave either incredibly offended or super excited—there will be no middle ground.

HOLD ON TO YOUR FORK…THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
