Australia Update - Day One

Oct 29, 2008

WOW…I’ve NEVER spent that much time on an airplane before.  Seriously!  BUT…it wasn’t THAT bad!  (I say “that” bad because when you stick me and my A-D-D on a plane and I have to sit there for 14 hours…AHHHHHH!)

Here are a few hightlights…

  • ‘Cretia and I were able to catch up on “Heroes” on the flight from DC to LA…well, we watched a couple of episodes.
  • LAX airport has ZERO selection of good restaurants!  BUT…the vanilla shake from McDonalds made it all better.
  • I had the privilege of meeting Casey Henagen from Keypoint Church in the airport in LA…awesome guy…God is doing great things at his church…3 years old & running 1,000 people.
  • Was able to catch up on some reading on the flight from LA to Sydney…and God IS stretching me.
  • Everyone’s luggage made it…a HUGE answer to prayer!
  • Got to meet Joel Houston in the airport…he was actually on our plane, awesome guy…really humble.  I almost asked him to sing a song…but decided against it.
  • As soon as we got to the hotel I changed clothes and found the gym…yes, I AM a FREAK.
  • Had lunch at an amazing restaurant overlooking Bondi Beach!
  • Drank A LOT of coffee!!!
  • Did a little shopping and touring in downtown Sydney…didn’t buy a scarf or any “sknny jeans!”
  • I have been invited to play rugby with a group of college guys tomorrow…YES!  I know it’s going to hurt…but I’ve never played rugby before, sounds fun!
  • The hospitality that Hillsong Church has shown has been AMAZING!
  • Going to hit a steakhouse tonight and then probably hit the bed early…it’s been a LONG day/two days/whatever…my internal clock is really messed up!

That’s it for now…more updates later…
