I can’t get this out of my mind…but WHAT will God’s church look like in 2020?
I am not among the doomsday people who believe we are all going to hell in a hand basket. I am choosing to believe what JESUS said in Matthew 16:18, that HE will build His church…and the gates of hell WILL NOT overcome it.
The possibilities are MIND BLOWING when we consider than in the year 2000…
- I had no idea that multi-site churches were possible.
- I had no idea that a web campus was possible…after all, who in the heck would watch church on a computer?
- I had no idea that a 2,500 seat sanctuary would be built in Anderson SC and filled up more than once on a Sunday!
- I had no idea that children and youth could actually embrace the idea that church is exciting…and that seeds would be planted among them that will revolutionize this world in the next decade.
- I had no idea that our church would have a service in the BILO Center…and pack it out!
- I had no idea that we would see over 6k salvations!
- I had no idea what a text message was.
- I had no idea what twitter, facebook or a blog was…and that they could be used as tools to advance the Gospel.
- I had no idea that by the end of the decade the internet on my telephone would be faster than the internet in my house.
- I had no idea that the technology that the world was developing would be used so effectively by the church to reach people far from God!!!
I HAD NO IDEA…
And NewSpring, neither do we!!!
Here at NewSpring Church we’ve adopted Ephesians 3:20 as our motto. HE IS ABLE…we’ve seen it…we’re living in it…and we’re believing it will continue to play out!
What is the next decade of ministry going to look like?
- How many people will we see come to Christ?
- How many people will see see go public through baptism?
- How many people will we see begin to read their Bible and apply what God is teaching them?
- How many campuses will we have across the WORLD?
- How many children will be set free from sex trafficking?
- How many needs in our own communities will be met?
- How many families will be put back together?
- How many marriages will START the right way?
- How many people will embrace generosity and do all that they can for others?
- WHO will be the next leader (leaders) that God will raise up in our church to do great things for Him?
I could go on and on…but here’s the point…
NewSpring…if we keep focused on Jesus, keep living His commands, keep loving our communities, keep believing in God for BIG things, keep the GOSPEL our only agenda, keep ignoring those who tell us what we’re doing will never work, keep desperately seeking Jesus for what’s next and keep desiring to reach people that no one else wants to reach…
2020 is going to be AMAZING!!! If God has done all of this in the first ten years…what’s next?
Ephesians 3:20…
