A Letter to NewSpring Church

Hello everyone!

As a reminder, my name is Shane Duffey and I will be keeping you guys updated on what is happening each week at NewSpring Church while Perry is on his sabbatical.

This is the final week of school for most of our campus locations and that means summertime will be in full swing.  Though school is ending and many of us will be taking vacations and finding some time to rest and recreate, NewSpring Church will not be slowing down.  It is our commitment to provide church at its highest level each week over the summer.

It is so exciting to see how God has grown our church in a way that we are able to have campuses in several locations across the state.  As you travel over the summer and find yourself in, or close to, a town where we have a campus, I want to encourage you not miss church that week and attend the campus that is nearest you (campus locations and service times can be found here). No matter the NewSpring campus you attend, what you will find is that we really are one church in many locations.

Here are some highlights from this past week and a couple of things to consider and look forward to…

#1 - Brad’s message from this Sunday was a perfect example of what living a Weird life should look like. If you missed Sunday and you are tired of living a normal, broken and dysfunctional life then join us on our series page or on our podcast later this week to hear Brad’s message on how Jesus is the end to normal.

What I loved most about this past Sunday was seeing hundreds of people stand and commit to Brad’s invitation to start living a ‘weird’ life.  I cannot wait to start hearing the stories of how our families, friends and communities are impacted by these commitments!

#2 - The NewSpring Leadership Conference is happening September 6th at the Anderson campus. We will hear from Matt Chandler, Steven Furtick, James McDonald, Judah Smith, Andy Stanley, Jud Wilhite and of course our Senior Pastor, Perry Noble. This will be an incredible day of teaching and preaching that you do not want to miss. The current price of $139 will be ending on July 1st so sign up today! On July 2nd the price will be $159 so don’t miss your chance to save a little money and secure your spot.

This event has sold out the last two years and will sell out this year as well.  If you have ever considered attending this event, now is the time to get your tickets.

#3 - Gauntlet is only 7 weeks away! Right now we have 1834 students signed up and we are able to take 1950. That means that there are ONLY 116 spots left. If you are in the 6th-12th grade you do not want to miss your chance to go on this incredibly fun and incredibly meaningful week at the beach. Sign up NOW!

For those of you who are past the 6th -12th grade age group, we have an opportunity for you to be involved with the Gauntlet as well.  We will need 650 of you to serve as volunteers this year.  Ask anyone who has served as a volunteer leader in the past and they will tell you that the trip was both fun and life changing for them as well.  Whether you are already serving as a Fuse volunteer or are not currently involved but are still interested in serving as a volunteer at The Gauntlet, fill out this form and someone from our staff will be in touch with you to walk you through the process.

#4 - If you are someone who wants to grow in your leadership abilities and your relationship with Jesus, then let me point you to a great resource that we have available. Perry has a Leadership Podcast on iTunes that posts each month. For the summer months we pre-recorded a couple before Perry left for sabbatical so visit this link, subscribe to the Podcast and in June and July you will get to hear some great thoughts from Perry about on leadership. I get the privilege of sitting in on those recordings with Perry and they a lot of fun and are worth taking the time to listen to.

That’s all I have for today NewSpring! I love serving this church and I hope all of you will join me this Sunday as Clayton King preaches and we continue our “Weird” series.
