Sunday Night Reflections…In Sections

Oct 5, 2008

WOW…so many things to try to wrap my mind around (really hoping I can sleep tonight!)  To try to help me not be so A-D-D in my blogging I will try to divide my thoughts up in three sections…

Saturday

  • We held our tailgate/baptism services and saw 602 people baptized at our Anderson and Greenville locations!
  • The Holy Spirit spoke to me SO clearly in the middle of everything & said, “DO NOT lose sight of this.”  I wept!  I am so amazed at all God is doing.
  • Both campuses went to the extreme in the tailgating experience…seriously, it was a CELEBRATION!
  • I woke up this morning with this thought, “Yep, THAT was fun…but NEXT YEAR we are going to need more pools and more people to baptize because God has WAY more to do here!”
  • NewSpring…HOLD ON TO YOUR FORK!  I’m still praying for the day when we see 3,000 people get dunked!!!

Today (Sunday)

  • I was able, for the first time, to head out to Greenville on a Sunday and experience a service there…had an absolute BLAST!
  • The stories of changed lives over there completely overwhelmed me…I can’t tell you how many conversations I had that started off with the other person saying, “I was baptized yesterday,” or, “I received Christ here…”
  • The way people interact with video teaching is awesome.
  • Hey Anderson campus…sometime within the next month or so you should take a trip to G’Vegas to experience a service there…you will LOVE IT!
  • The coffee in Greenville is STRONG!!!
  • It was weird not speaking today at the Anderson campus…but it was definitely time for a break…and Clayton did an incredible job!

And Finally…Some Thoughts About Clayton’s Message…

  • He’s right…taking the high ground, though it is never easy, is always the right thing to do…and it always pleases God!
  • I loved it when he talked about the fact that many Christians are simply unwilling to fight for our marriages, our children and God’s call to reach the world!
  • “I’m on God’s side—He’s not on my mine—my side’s too small.”  CK
  • I love Clayton King!  He’s been my friend and accountability partner for YEARS…and God has used him to both encourage me AND whip my tail!  Hey guys…who has God placed in your life to do the same for you?

And finally NewSpring Church…he was RIGHT!  I LOVE serving as the pastor of this church.  There is nowhere on earth that I would rather be and there isn’t a group of people I enjoy speaking to more than the “home team.”  I can’t believe I get to do this…and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us NEXT!

I love you!!!
