Sunday Night Reflections

Nov 16, 2008

A few thoughts before diving into bed…

  • I LOVE NewSpring Church!  It was great to be back teaching to the “home crowd” today.
  • My prayer is that through today’s message those who are held in bondage to a past dominated with sexual sin were set free…
  • AND…that those who are held captive by an attitude of religion were deeply troubled and offended!
  • If Jesus was passionate about offering forgiveness then I believe His church should be as well!
  • Yes, I did say today in every service that I love sex!!!  I believe one of the fundamental problems the church has had when talking about sex is ALWAYS focusing on the negative and neglecting to talk about the positive!
  • God made sex…(YES!!!)...and He made it to be enjoyed between a husband and a wife…and ANYTHING outside of those boundaries ALWAYS damages the heart and soul of a person.
  • Yes, I did say it is easier for a man to move past sexual sin than it is a woman!
  • One of the best things single guys can do is begin to BEG GOD to allow them to see women as He sees them…beautiful, valuable and worthy of honor and respect.
  • Uh…that’s not a bad thing for us married guys to beg God for either!!!
  • Single ladies…no matter what you’ve been through…you are NOT damaged goods!  God STILL has a plan for your life…and you are SO WORTH THE PURSUIT of a man who is willing to fight to win your heart…do NOT SETTLE for a boy who wants to use you, wait for a man who will esteem you!
  • Two more weeks to go in this series…and next week we will be specifically dealing with the woman who feels like she has NO HOPE!
  • I know I say this all of the time…but I mean it…I SERIOUSLY love this place, I can’t believe I get to serve here!
  • AND…it was an honor to host Andy Stanley and Reggie Joyner today in the 9:15 service.  I love and admire both of these men and all that God is doing through them to enlarge HIS Kingdom!  BUT…
  • I will have to admit that it was a little intimidating to see Andy taking notes in the message…I wanted to stop and ask him on a couple of occasions, “Hey…uh…what are you writing down?  Did I say something wrong…”  :-)

Good night!!!
