Pastor P

Sunday Night Reflections

Mar 4, 2007

The first message in the Girls Gone Wild series went pretty well I thought. The atmosphere was HEAVY today and I spoke on Rahab & used her story to show how Christians need to get over their past. In Christ we are made BRAND NEW…and no one is more thankful for that than me. I said it today and I will say it again…if you don’t let you past die then it won’t let you live! AND if you play there (in your mind) then you will stay there in the way you live!

Two thoughts on this before I move on…

On a personal note—anytime I speak on this subject it is painful for me because of how I lived before I met Christ. I often fight battles in my mind in regards to who I used to be…and have literally had to train myself to quote Romans 8:1 over and over again…knowing that in Christ I am FREE from who I used to be.

The second reason it is painful is because of Christians who use me telling my personal stories to throw things in my face and attempt to hurt me AND to tear down the ministry of our church. I have literally received e-mails from people who have said, “I could never go to a church where the pastor has actually confessed he used to have a porn addiction AND that he used to abuse alcohol!”

BAM…got me…I messed up…I made mistakes…I needed grace! AND because of what HE has done in my life—even though those are the things I USED to do…I am not that person anymore! (I have been free from alcohol abuse since 1990 and pornography since 1999…if Jesus can do it for me then He can do it for you!)

It still blows my mind that some people think that their crap does not stink! Christians can be some of the most arrogant and judgmental people on the planet…and the way they treat people who have messed up amazes me! We are called to speak truth AND offer grace, you can’t have one without the other.

And the “Christian” who ALWAYS speaks about how perfect they are—they are full of pride…and the last time I checked it was pride that got satan kicked out of heaven…and it is also listed as one of the things that God HATES in Scripture.

According to Scripture—those who are “in Christ” are free from their past! MOVE ON—GOD HAS!

THIS COMING SUNDAY IS GOING TO ROCK!!!

Let just say that I am TICKED off…the world has gone crazy over James Cameron’s supposed discovery of the body of Jesus Christ…and he says he has DNA evidence to prove it. (Does anyone find it fascinating that they CAN know its the body of Jesus through DNA evidence BUT they can’t figure out who the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby is using that same technology?)

SO…this coming Sunday we are going to attack this controversy HEAD ON! We will be communicating from the stage the evidence that supports the resurrection…and then allow people to decide for themselves. God is NOT afraid when people begin to ask questions! AND I am looking SO forward to REALLY digging into this!

GET PEOPLE HERE for Sunday’s service! I promise that we will do our best to lay out the evidence that proves that being a Christian just makes sense!

AND…one more thing—I SERIOUSLY do not believe they have DNA evidence of Jesus. Did they swab His cheek? Did he pee pee in a cup? What the heck? Folks—Jesus is ALIVE and the world is STILL trying to explain it 2,000 years later!

Folks…if Jesus is still dead then Christianity is worthless…so…let’s see what happens this coming Sunday!

First Wednesday is THIS WEDNESDAY at 6:30…don’t miss it!!! :-)

I found out that our conference now has right at 700 people signed up! Holy Cow! I will do a post on WHY this is such a big deal soon…but please keep our staff in prayer as we prepare…and please pray for me as I am preparing messages…and God is totally laying things on my heart to say…and I am asking Him, “Are you SURE?” :-)

AND finally…my awesome wife bought us some robin eggs today. This is a HUGE deal in the Noble home! Robin eggs are my favorite Easter candy…and they are hers as well. I have been munching on them all day long—they just make me happy! :-)

I don’t like ALL Easter candy; in fact, I hate peeps…BUT robin eggs, oh yeah—they ROCK!

That’s it for now…I’m tired!
