Sex

Apr 6, 2015

The whole world is talking about it. In fact I believe it is more talked about in our society right now than any other time in history.

All of us think about it – some of our thoughts are good, others not so good – but the reality of having to deal with the subject of sex in our culture is something the church must learn to embrace.

In the past the church has chosen to have two stances on the subject of sex (both of which are destructive).

Stance #1 – Sex is dirty, ugly and gross—save it for the one you love.

Stance #2 – Silence

The first stance is damaging because it does not deal with sex from the perspective that Scripture explains it. It’s not “dirty, ugly and gross”—unless it is taken outside the boundaries that God designed for it.

The second stance is damaging because the church should not be silent about a subject that has created confusion, pain and regret in the lives of so many people.

On Sunday, April 12 we are going to begin a brand new four week series entitled, “Sex…it doesn’t have to be grey”.

I am more excited about this series than any series we’ve done because I really do believe people are going to find HOPE and HEALING about something that has impacted all of us at some level.

It’s not a series designed to “tear people down” but rather “build people up!”

AND…it’s a series that will be an EASY invite for someone who doesn’t normally attend church.

Can’t wait!
