Restaurant Suggestions

Mar 2, 2007

For those coming into town for Unleash...I KNOW you are wanting to know the good restaurants. We do have some chain restaurants in town (Outback, Applebees, etc.) BUT…if you want to walk on the wild side and try out some of the local places—here are nine I will recommend.

(By the way—we are now up to 674!  HOLY COW!)

#9 - The Meeting Place - They are located downtown Anderson…it is true southern cooking AND you will NOT leave hungry! They are open for breakfast and lunch only

#8 - Little Pigs BBQ - They are located near downtown and DANG…these people do not want you to leave hungry; in fact, I think they actually get offended if you can walk OUT of their restaurant after eating all the food they put on your plate.

#7 - ‘Ole Country Smokehouse - These peeps are located about a mile north of the church on highway 81…if you go there then you MUST GET THE SWEET POTATO HUSH PUPPIES!!! They will make you smack your grandma they are so good!!!

#6 - Skins Hot Dogs - There is actually one of these located right across the street from the church in the Bloom shopping center. It is THE best hot dog you will ever put in your mouth…and be sure to save room for their chocolate pound cake!!!

#5 - Creekside BBQ - Yes, another BBQ place, hey, it’s the South. I always get their BBQ chicken! They will be open on Thursday night after the conference.

#4 - Tuckers - This is a restaurant on Clemson Boulevard that has the best grilled chicken salad that I have ever had!!!

#3 - The Doo Dah Day Cafe - This is a relatively new restaurant located in downtown Anderson as well…they have great soups, sandwiches and desserts!

#2 - Ma Ma Penns - This restaurant is located on Clemson Boulevard and has some of the best mac & cheese EVER…and their biscuits ROCK as well! (True southern cookin’ here!)

#1 - Sullivans - This is one of my favorite restaurants EVER…if you go at night then get the grouper! And save room for dessert; in fact, the Bible says in First Opinions chapter seven verse eleven that to go there and not get dessert is a sin!
