I cannot believe we are coming up on 10 years of ministry…seriously, it seems like just yesterday that I was in a living room with around 15 other people casting vision about a church that I really felt God had called me to begin.
And NO ONE on the planet is as amazed at what He has done over the past 10 years than me.
I say it all the time…but I really do believe the best is yet to come…that the past 10 years have been a mere foundation that God is going to build on…we haven’t even seen the beginning of all that I believe He wants to do.
Saying that…here are some things I am really excited about…
#1 – THIS SUNDAY! (Whenever anyone asks me what is the best service we’ve ever had at NewSpring I always tell them, “Actually…it’s the one we’ve got coming up!”)
This Sunday we will be doing something that we’ve never tried before…and I can’t wait to see what God does!!!
#2 – September 27! Two really awesome things happen on that day…
First of all…we launch our Columbia campus. This has been in the planning and preparation stages for nearly a year now…and it is finally here!!! I can’t WAIT to see all that God is going to do at this campus!
Second of all we are launching a brand new series on this day entitled, “How To Survive The End of the World.” When we did the series entitled “You Asked For It” last year the NUMBER ONE question genre that was asked BY FAR was on the end times, the book of Revelation and when Jesus is coming back.
So…on this date we are beginning a five week series in which we tackle this topic. We’ve never dedicated an entire series to this before…I am looking forward to examining this and seeing what the Scripture has to say.
#3 – “Once Upon A Time!”
On Sunday, November 1st we will begin a series entitled, “Once Upon A Time.” It will be a series targeted to singles that deal with the myth that, “Once I meet the ‘right person’ and can get married and have lots of sex then life will be great and we will never have any struggles.”
One of the best ways to have an awesome marriage is to PLAN for one before entering into it…and that’s what we will be digging into for the whole month!
#4 – Our Third Kenya Trip
We’ve already sent two mission teams to Kenya…and the third will be heading over there from November 19-28.
Trust me…you cannot go on one of these trip and not be moved! God has been rocking people’s world during this experience…and I believe that He is going to use our church over there to make a significant impact over the next three years.
BTW…we’re taking five trips next year…so if you can’t go in November maybe you can go next year.
#5 – Our Ten Year Anniversary Service
On Sunday, January 24th we are having our ten year anniversary service at the BI-LO center in Greenville, SC.
We’re going to have one service that day and are expecting over 15,000 people to attend!
We’re sending buses down to Florence and Columbia to help people get there easier.
We’re in the planning stages even now.
It’s going to be loud! ☺
Seriously…can you imagine 15,000 people singing, celebrating and lifting up the name of Jesus? It’s going to be THE most awesome event that has ever taken place there…and I’m going to go ahead and say…you had better make plans on getting there early…it’s going to be one of those things that you won’t want to miss!!!
I could go on and on…but those are just a few of the highlights. I am SO excited and honored to serve as your pastor…and my hope and passion is that we continue to see Jesus do unexplainable and undeniable things as we focus on HIM and HIS Kingdom!
