C3…AND An Interview With Ed Young…

Feb 12, 2008

Next week I have the privilege of speaking at a place that God used to absolutely change my life and the way I believe in regards to what the church can accomplish.

In 2002 a group of five people and myself hopped on a plane bound for DFW and went to the C3 conference at Fellowship Church.  It was there that I had the privilege of meeting Ed Young…and God has used him as a major influencer in my life.

This year, for reasons ONLY known to God, they’ve asked me to speak.  (For those who pray for me…PLEASE pray about this…I am scared to death!)  I am excited, nervous and PUMPED UP about getting to see so many pastors and church leaders from all over the world.

I personally believe that this is one of the best conferences in the country…and I’ve NEVER walked away from C3 without God challenging my heart in a MAJOR way…

I shot Ed an e-mail and asked him several questions about C3 and here is what he had to say…

#1 - Why did you guys begin doing the C3 conference in the first place?

I had been to a number of conferences that were precept and principle driven and because of this and because of my background growing up in a pastor’s home, I wanted to share with others the guts of the church – church on the rugged plains of reality.

#2 - What is your favorite part of the C3 conference?

Diversity – C3 has become such a diverse group of emerging leaders.  I enjoy hearing about what God is doing in their ministries.

#3 - Looking back over the past few years, what has been your favorite C3 moment?

Interviewing Mom and Dad on stage last year.

#4 - What do you hope people are going to take away from this year’s C3 conference?

We want to motivate, stimulate, and elevate everyone!
